Am Institut für Psychologie der Fakultät für Human- und Sozialwissenschaften ist zum 1. Oktober 2027 die

W3-Professur „Klinische Psychologie und Psychotherapie“ (m/w/d)

zu besetzen.

Die zukünftige Stelleninhaberin oder der zukünftige Stelleninhaber vertritt die Klinische Psychologie und Psychotherapie in Forschung und Lehre in der gesamten Breite des Faches, mit Ausnahme des Bereichs Kinder und Jugendliche, der von der Professur Klinische Psychologie und Psychotherapie des Kindes- und Jugendalters abgedeckt wird.

Die Professur soll in Forschung und Lehre die einschlägigen Inhaltsbereiche von psychischen und Verhaltensstörungen angemessen abdecken: Klassifikation, Epidemiologie, Ätiologie, Psychopathologie, klinisch-psychologische Diagnostik sowie die psychotherapeutischen Behandlungsansätze. Inneruniversitär ist die Professur Klinische Psychologie und Psychotherapie in der Profillinie „Mensch und Technik“ beheimatet. Dementsprechend wird erwartet, dass die Stelleninhaberin/der Stelleninhaber Methoden der digitalen Therapieunterstützung kennt und anstrebt, diese mitzugestalten und weiterzuentwickeln.

Die Professur Klinische Psychologie und Psychotherapie bietet Lehre in den drei Studiengängen des Instituts für Psychologie, Bachelor Psychologie, Master Psychologie mit Schwerpunkt Klinische Psychologie und Psychotherapie sowie Master Psychologie, an. Insbesondere in den ersten beiden Studiengängen bringt die Professur in hohem Umfang und gemäß PsychThApprO Lehre ein.

Die Stelleninhaberin/Der Stelleninhaber leitet außerdem den Bereich der Erwachsenen-Psychotherapie in der Psychotherapeutischen Hochschulambulanz für Forschung und Lehre der TU Chemnitz, deren operativer Betrieb durch die Psychotherapeutische Hochschulambulanz TU Chemnitz GmbH (PHA-TUC) wahrgenommen wird. Für die erforderliche psychotherapeutische Praxistätigkeit (Therapie und Supervision) sowie für die Betreuung und Prüfung der Studierenden im Master Psychologie mit Schwerpunkt Klinische Psychologie ist eine Approbation als Psychologische Psychotherapeutin bzw. Psychologischer Psychotherapeut grundlegende Voraussetzung, idealerweise mit einer Fachkundevertiefung in Verhaltenstherapie.

Erwartet werden

• Aktivitäten und Erfahrungen im Bereich Forschung (Fähigkeit und Bereitschaft zur Einwerbung von Drittmitteln, starke Publikations- und Vortragstätigkeit, Förderung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses),
• Aktivitäten und Erfahrungen im Bereich Lehre (insbesondere auch die Fähigkeit und Bereitschaft zur Übernahme von Lehrveranstaltungen in deutscher und englischer Sprache),
• Aktivitäten und Erfahrungen im Bereich Transfer sowie
• die Bereitschaft zur Übernahme von Aufgaben in der akademischen Selbstverwaltung.

Erwünscht sind weiterhin

• internationale Aktivitäten und Erfahrungen in den Bereichen Lehre, Forschung und/oder Transfer,
• besondere Nachweise zur Qualifikation in der Lehre,
• die Fähigkeit und Bereitschaft zur Nutzung neuer Lehr- und Lernformen,
• die Fähigkeit und Bereitschaft zum Engagement im Bereich Weiterbildung,
• die Fähigkeit und Bereitschaft zur Öffentlichkeitsarbeit,
• Erfahrungen im Führen psychotherapeutischer Einrichtungen/Teams einschl. Erfahrungen als Supervisorin/Supervisor,
• Erfahrungen in akademischer Selbstverwaltung, sowie
• psychotherapeutische Erfahrungen über verschiedene psychotherapeutische Settings hinweg (z.B. stationär, tagesklinisch/teilstationär, ambulant).

Das Institut für Psychologie legt Wert auf transparente, belastbare und replizierbare Forschung. Daher ist in einem separaten Dokument darzulegen (ca. 1-2 Seiten), auf welche Art und Weise diese Ziele bisher verfolgt wurden und geplant ist, dies weiterhin zu tun (Open Science Statement). Ein Einbringen in die Open Science Initiative der Fakultät für Human- und Sozialwissenschaften ist erwünscht.

Die Berufungsvoraussetzungen ergeben sich aus § 59 SächsHSG. Die für die Stelle erforderlichen zusätzlichen wissenschaftlichen Leistungen sind durch eine erfolgreich evaluierte Juniorprofessur, durch eine Habilitation oder durch eine gleichwertige wissenschaftliche Tätigkeit nachzuweisen.

The Institute of Psychology at the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences has an opening for the

W3 Professorship "Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy" (m/f/d)

to be filled with effect from Oct 1, 2027.

The future holder of this position will represent clinical psychology and psychotherapy in research and teaching across the entire spectrum of the discipline, with the exception of the field of child and adolescent psychology, which is covered by the Professorship of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy of Childhood and Adolescence.

The professorship is expected to adequately cover the relevant areas of mental and behavioral disorders in both research and teaching: classification, epidemiology, etiology, psychopathology, clinical psychological assessment, and psychotherapeutic treatment approaches. Within the university, the Professorship of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy is part of the “Human and Technology” research profile. Accordingly, the successful candidate is expected to be familiar with methods of digital therapy support and to strive to help shape and further develop them.

The Professorship of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy offers courses in the three degree programs offered by the Department of Psychology: the Bachelor of Science in Psychology, the Master of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, and the Master of Science in Psychology. The professorship contributes extensively to the curriculum of the first two programs in particular, in accordance with the PsychThApprO guidelines.

The incumbent will also head the Adult Psychotherapy Department at the University Psychotherapy Clinic for Research and Teaching at Chemnitz University of Technology, which is operated by Psychotherapeutische Hochschulambulanz TU Chemnitz GmbH (PHA-TUC). A license to practice as a psychological psychotherapist is a fundamental requirement for the necessary clinical practice (therapy and supervision) as well as for the supervision and evaluation of students in the Master’s program in Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Psychology; ideally, this should include specialized training in behavioral therapy.

We are looking for someone with

• practice and experience in research (ability and willingness to raise third-party funding, strong publication and lecture track record, advancement of young academics),
• practice and experience in teaching (in particular the ability and willingness to teach courses in German and English),
• practice and experience in knowledge exchange, and
• a willingness to assume responsibilities in academic self-administration.

We would also welcome

• international practice and experience in teaching, research and/or knowledge exchange,
• special proof of qualification in teaching,
• the ability and willingness to embrace new forms of teaching and learning,
• the ability and willingness to participate in delivering continuing education,
• the ability and willingness to engage in public relations work,
• experience in managing psychotherapy facilities/teams, including experience as a supervisor,
• experience in academic self-governance, as well as
• psychotherapy experience across various settings (e.g., inpatient, day treatment/semi-inpatient, outpatient).

The Department of Psychology places a high value on transparent, robust, and reproducible research. Therefore, a separate document (approximately 1–2 pages) must outline how these goals have been pursued to date and how the department plans to continue doing so (Open Science Statement). Contributions to the Open Science Initiative of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences are encouraged.

The requirements for appointment are governed by Section 59 of the Institutions of Higher Education Act in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSG). The additional academic achievements required for the position must be demonstrated by evidence of a successfully appraised junior professorship, completion of post-doctoral studies (habilitation) or equivalent academic activity.
